Inspecting Nonconventional Construction IL CE for Home Inspection

Inspection Certification Associates’ 6 CE hour course Inspecting Nonconventional Construction investigates nonconventional – but increasingly common – homes and systems that may be encountered by inspectors.

Part 1, Alternative Homes, teaches students how to perform and report on inspections on alternative residential homes, such as manufactured, modular, tiny, and log homes. Students will evaluate the main construction features of alternative homes, including the building envelope; floor, wall, and roofing systems; and foundations. Additionally, students will identify typical defects related to moisture, utilities, and fire safety.

Part 2, Smart Homes, considers technologically advanced homes. Students will become familiar with common features, and possible vulnerabilities, enabling them to accurately evaluate and report on them as part of a complete home inspection.
